A Reintroduction
I’ve had the great pleasure of connecting with quite a few new people over the past few weeks, so I thought it would be a good time to re-introduce myself and HRuprise.
Hey! I’m Rebecca, the proud founder of HRuprise, where we are dedicated to transforming small businesses into champions of equity and effectiveness. After years in the HR trenches, I was inspired to create HRuprise to address a huge need — a different way of doing HR.
A bit about my background: With over 20 years of experience in HR, I've worked with a variety of companies, from my early days at Target and Home Depot, to my wilder, crazier days leading HR in a self-managed organization started by former Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh. I’ve done everything from talent acquisition to organizational development, employee relations to performance management for thousands. My journey has equipped me with deep insights into the challenges businesses face and the strategies that truly drive growth and inclusivity.
I started HRuprise somewhat accidentally as an Instagram account during the #MeToo movement, calling on HR to take a closer look at how we’ve been part of the problem, hence the “uprise” in HRuprise.
HRuprise Unlimited is our flagship offering, an all-access pass to seasoned HR expertise tailored specifically for startups and small businesses. We help you navigate the complex world of HR without the cost of hiring a full-time professional — ensuring that no business is left without support.
What makes HRuprise unique? We’re not just another consulting firm; we’re a partner in your business's journey towards a fairer, more inclusive workplace. And, you can pause or cancel anytime, which gives you flexibility through your business’s ebbs and flows.
Our mission is simple: to empower businesses to grow and thrive through better HR practices.
Beyond HR consulting, I’m also an active keynote speaker. I’ve had the privilege of sharing insights on many stages, both national and international. I’m currently booking talks right now ahead of my book that comes out in September about how we all collectively experienced the trauma of the pandemic and what we can learn about leadership from post-traumatic growth. It also includes my personal story of being diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of the pandemic. My goal is to ignite change and inspire action through powerful storytelling and practical advice.
I also share weekly insights through this newsletter and YouTube series HR Made Simple, where I decode the complexities of work and leadership, making them accessible to everyone.
My goal is to build a community of businesses that not only succeed in their ventures but do so with equity and integrity.
If you’re up for a chat about innovative HR solutions or interested in a dose of weekly inspiration, let’s connect!
