Beyond Words: Building Real Trans Inclusion

"Allyship can be thought of in terms of solidarity - the idea that we don’t have to be the same to work together. You don’t have to understand everything about me in order to support me.”

— Jules Gill-Peterson

We’re in a unique moment in history, when we’re finally beginning to collectively and publicly acknowledge the contributions of transgender people in our midst. But we’re several millennia behind the curve, and we have a LOT of catching up to do. Well-intentioned DEI trainings that substitute behavioral checklists and pronoun glossaries for genuine allyship are not enough.

How can we as humans draw on our own hearts to really show up for our trans colleagues?

HRuprise is proud to partner with Jules Gill-Peterson, a leading trans scholar, writer, and cultural critic who has a LOT to share on this subject. Her tools and practices for meaningful inclusion bring the conversation right to the heart of the matter - you.

We are thrilled to announce that Jules will present Beyond Words: Building Real Trans Inclusion to the HRuprise community on August 26th, 2021.

HRuprise founder Rebecca Weaver had the pleasure of chatting with Jules about how we should be thinking about gender, allyship, and trans-inclusion in the workplace. Check out the trailer below for a sampling of Jules’ wisdom and warmth.

Registration is now open for Beyond Words: Building Real Trans Inclusion. This 90-minute live workshop will help you discover why the usual trans diversity and inclusion doesn’t achieve what it aims for and you’ll walk away with a concrete action list so that you can start building meaningful trans inclusion.
